Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Candidates: name, contact details, ID-related details you choose to provide, CV, qualifications, work history, skills, salary expectations, location, licence and professional registration status, screening answers and video intro recordings.
• Employers: company name, contact person, email, phone, vacancy details and payment references.
• Technical: login details, device and usage logs needed to secure the service.

2. Purpose of processing

• Matching candidates to vacancies, calculating MatchScores and sharing shortlists with employers.
• Account management, payments, communication and fraud prevention.
• Meeting legal obligations.

We process information on the basis of your consent, to perform our agreement with you, and our legitimate interest in providing recruitment services (POPIA section 11).

3. Special personal information

We do not ask for race, religion, health, biometric or criminal-record information unless you choose to disclose it and give explicit consent, or the law permits it (POPIA sections 26–33). Video recordings are used only for the vacancy you were invited to.

4. Automated decision-making

MatchScores are generated automatically to rank candidates, but final hiring decisions are always made by people. You may ask for an explanation of your score and make representations (POPIA section 71).

5. Sharing

Contact details stay hidden until an employer pays for and unlocks a vacancy shortlist. We share information only with employers you are matched to, and with trusted operators (hosting, email, payments, AI processing) bound by confidentiality and security obligations. Some operators may store data outside South Africa only where adequate protection exists (POPIA section 72). We never sell personal information.

6. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, row-level database security, private document storage with expiring links and role-based admin access (POPIA section 19). We will notify you and the Information Regulator of any security compromise as required by section 22.

7. Retention

We keep information only while your account is active or as long as needed for the purpose or required by law, then delete or de-identify it (POPIA section 14).

8. Your rights

• Access, correct or delete your personal information.
• Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time.
• Opt out of direct marketing.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za.

9. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and the site working. We do not use advertising trackers.
